Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann married Gurpreet Kaur, a 32-year-old doctor, in a private ceremony at his Chandigarh home.
The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Raghav Chaddha and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were among the guests at the wedding, which was mostly attended by family and friends.
Raghav Chaddha shared numerous photos from the wedding. Mr. Chaddha tweeted a photo of himself and Arvind Kejriwal with the groom, writing, “Mann sahab nu lakh lakh vadhaiyan” (Mann Sahab, many congratulations).
Gurpreet Kaur, the bride, graduated with her MBBS from a private university in Haryana four years ago. Her Pehowa neighbours claimed they found out about her engagement to the Chief Minister from the media.
Due to shared family ties, Bhagwant Mann has known Gurpreet Kaur for some time. According to reports, Gurpreet Kaur also supported him during his Punjab election campaign.
According to ANI, the wedding menu includes Karahi Paneer, Tandoori Kulche, Dal Makhani, Navratan Biryani, Mausami Subzian, Apricot Stuffed Kofta, Lasagna Siciliano, and Burrani Raita. A dry fruit rabri, moong dal halwa, angoori rasmalai, shahi tukda, and a fresh fruit trifle round out the elaborate spread.
