Nitin Gadkari said confidently, The usage of petrol in vehicles will be replaced by Green fuel after five years.

He was awarded with an honorary degree of Doctor of Science by Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth in Maharashtra’s Akola where he made this statement while addressing hundreds of people.

He had full faith while saying that, I want to say this with full faith that petrol will vanish from India after five years. Your cars and scooters will either be on green hydrogen, ethanol flex-fuel, CNG or LNG.

Petrol consumption in India

Petrol has a consumption volume of about 37.3 Billion liters in 2022. The country which uses the petrol in highest amount is United States of America whereas India resides on the third position while China being at 2nd.

Effects of petroleum on the environment:

The most important effects of petroleum use are on global climate change, even though new technology has partially solved some of these issues. Its combustion as a fossil fuel contributes to the pollution of the atmosphere, especially the emissions of carbon dioxide, one of the most hazardous greenhouse gases.

Advantages of using Green Hydrogen as fuel:

Green hydrogen is completely sustainable because it doesn’t release any harmful gases during manufacture or burning. Hydrogen is easily storable, making it possible to use it later for different uses and at periods other than right away after synthesis.
